Welcome to First Grade!

welcome message
Mrs. Fuller is so excited to be your child's teacher this year! We have a tremendously thrilling, and busy year ahead!

Mrs. Fuller went through extensive training at Sam Houston State University to prepare to teach your child. Her degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies with Early Childhood through 6th grade & English as a Second Language Certifications. She also did her student teaching at Meador Elementary.

She grew up in and around Houston, Texas most of her life. Though, she spent a year traveling and doing mission work in her early adulthood in Mexico and Argentina. That experience gave her many opportunities to work with children from a different culture than her own. It has also helped her to develop a respect for different cultures, languages, backgrounds, and ways of life.

She has an amazing husband, Dane, whom she loves very much. He attended A&M and has a degree in Civil Engineering.  They have a little boy named Alexander. He is such a joy, and so much fun to spend time with. They also have two dogs named Shyanne and Liebe. They often play with them outside. Their favorite hobbies are going to the movies, or trying new restaurants. Some of her favorite things: color-teal, sport-soccer, drink-iced tea with lemon, candy-kit-kat, food-enchiladas, book- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Teaching has always been Mrs. Fuller's passion. She has known that she has wanted to be a teacher since she was five years old, and she's worked tirelessly to obtain her degree to be able to achieve that goal. She has a love for learning, so it is her hope that her students would also grow to love learning as much as she does.

Mrs. Fuller firmly believes that a successful year starts with an open line of communication between parents and teachers. The opportunity to teach your child is a privilege and a responsibility she takes very seriously. She will do her best to motivate, comfort, and appreciate your child and all the gifts he or she will bring to the classroom. With that said; however, she will need your help. Whether it’s ensuring your child has completed homework assignments or simply asking your child, “What surprised or excited you in the classroom today?”, your encouragement and interest make an enormous difference!
