I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a native Texan. I grew up in Kingwood, Texas and attended Texas A&M University upon graduating from high school. After earning my degree from A&M I worked in the corporate world in Human Resources. I lived in Houston, Austin, La Jolla, California, and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. About a decade into my career, I had the desire to make more of a difference and work with children. This is when I made the bold leap to start my career as an educator. I went back to school at the University of North Texas and earned my teaching certificate. I began my teaching in Keller, Texas where I taught First Grade and Third Grade. I worked at the same school there for nine years.
In 2014, I moved from Keller to the Willis area to marry my high school sweetheart and thus joined the Meador team. I have been a Wildkat for four years now and am happy to be apart of such a great family of educators.
My husband and I each have one daughter from previous marriages; the oldest will be 14 this year and the youngest will turn 8. We also have 4 "furry babies" - two dogs, one cat and a hamster. We are a busy family as I know most of you are too!
In closing, it is important to me that you know I work very hard to provide your child with a safe, comfortable, and inviting classroom each and everyday. I teach the kids that we are a family and we treat each other the way we would like to be treated. I also challenge the kids in not only academic areas, but also character building. We work on our conduct, building respect for others, gaining a sense of responsibility and having pride in our work. The expectations for my students is high, but reasonable. I truly believe each child is capable of working to their very best ability and I take pride in helping them get there.
I am delighted to have your child in my class and I look forward to partnering with you to help them have the best school year possible.
