Mrs. Edmiston is a native Texan. She grew up in Kingwood, Texas and attended Texas A&M University upon graduating from high school. After earning her bachelor's degree from A&M, she worked in the corporate world in Human Resources. She has lived in Houston, Austin, La Jolla, California, and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
About a decade into her career, she had the desire to make more of a difference and work with children. This is when she made the bold leap to start her career as an educator. Mrs. Edmiston went back to school at the University of North Texas and earned her teaching certificate. She began her teaching in Keller, Texas where she taught First Grade and Third Grade. She worked at the same school there for nine years.
In 2014, Mrs. Edmiston moved from Keller to the Willis area to marry her high school sweetheart and thus joined the Meador team. She has been a Wildkat for five years now and is happy to be apart of such a great family of educators.
In closing, Mrs. Edmiston works very hard to provide your child with a safe, comfortable, and inviting classroom each and everyday. She teaches her students that "We are a family and we treat each other the way we would like to be treated." She also works tirelessly to challenge the kids in not only academic areas, but also with character building. She encourages her students to work on their conduct, building respect for others, gaining a sense of responsibility and having pride in their work. The expectations she has for her students is high, yet reasonable and fair. Mrs. Edmiston truly believes each child is capable of working to their very best ability and she takes pride in helping them get there.
"Mrs. E". as her students call her, is delighted to have your child in her class and she looks forward to partnering with you to help them have the best school year possible.
