Welcome to Mrs. O'Dell's Class.

I am so excited to be your child's fourth grade Math/Science teacher this year. I was raised in Conroe, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood - 4th grade). This will be my sixth year here at Meador Elementary. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me. It's the best way for me to get back with you as quickly as possible.

  • Grandparents Breakfast 11/10 K-2, & 11/11 3-5. Please return the pre-registration forms to get everyone in to eat breakfast smoothly and see the wonderful 4th grade program!
  • Book Fair begins on Monday, 11/7, and runs through Thursday, 11/17
  • The campus will be a "Closed Campus" for testing on the following days: Nov 8, 9, 14, 15, & 16 - Items may be dropped off for students but no visitors will be allowed for lunch.

We are finishing up our multiplication unit this week.  Students will practice using the standard algorithm for a two digit number by a two digit number.  Students will take their multiplication test on Friday:)

This week we are multiplying!  Students will learn a variety of methods to solve a two digit by two digit multiplication problem.  Learning multiplication facts will help your child get through long multiplication and long division - have your child teach you how to play  multiplication war! 
Please remember to sign planners and reading logs daily.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
This week students will take their first common assessment for math, reading, and writing.  Students will be tested on what they have learned since the beginning of the year.  We will begin touching on financial literacy and begin our multiplication unit.  In science we will continue with mixtures and solutions.
Please sign your child's planner daily - you will find homework and what they learned each day.

This week we are learning to round up to the hundred thousands place and add/subtract whole numbers and decimals.  In science, we are beginning our mixtures/solutions unit. 
DMR Quiz 2 is on Friday.  The quiz will include rounding, expanded notation, and addition/subtraction of whole numbers and decimals.
If your child plans on running for student council, make sure to sign and have them return their form (purple form) by September 26th :)
