Hello Wildkats! I am so excited for everything that we have coming up in music this year!  I am also very excited to say that I am expecting a baby boy this year.  He will be my first child.  His name is Grant Dalton Weeks and he is due in October!  While I am out on maternity leave, Mrs. Amber Espinoza will be teaching music at Meador.  She is very excited and is going to do a great job!  
A few things about me- I graduated from The University of Houston with a degree in music education and performed with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2009. I have performed and have experience in many different ensembles including choir, opera, percussion ensemble, orchestra, wind ensemble, marching band, and musical theater. I play percussion at Woodlands Church on the weekends and play piano at home for enjoyment. I love music and love children, so I have the best of both worlds here at Meador. I am very excited for this year and I know we will have a great time in music. Go Wildkats!

We are having a lot of fun singing this song this week in Kinder and 1st grade!  
Remember our Storybook parade is on Monday, October 31st!  Dress up as your favorite storybook character!  Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade!
2nd and 3rd Grade are working on reading and writing rhythms in music.  Can you clap this rhythm? 
There are two types of notes in the picture.  The first student to name both types of notes will get something out of the treasure box!
Please write your answer down with your name and your homeroom teacher's name.
5th Grade Honor Choir audition results will be announced at the end of specials this Wednesday. (10/19/16)
If your student makes the Honor Choir, they will receive a letter in their Monday folder. (10/24/16)  
This letter needs to be signed by a parent/guardian.
