Welcome to Mrs. Robinson’s 5th Grade Class

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”

“Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!”

I am excited to be a part of your scholar's education. This is my fifth year teaching at William Lloyd Meador Elementary. I graduated with honors from Sam Houston State University, earning my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Before becoming an educator, I worked at "a bank" with branches coast to coast, so that I could move around easily with my husband in the Marine Corp. We have changed careers, and we're both excited to teach for Willis Independent School District. We have three children: a daughter in college, a daughter in 9th grade, and a son in 1st grade. I hope to build a working relationship with all my students' parents.

Please contact me with questions, concerns, or celebrations about your scholar. My conference period is 2:30-3:15. I am available after school, please email me for available times and dates. I will be communicating with you through your scholar's planner, Bloomz, Class Dojo, remind101 and this website. Remember to click on the class links below and subscribe to those apps. Please check planners everyday for notes. Your scholar will be adding new information every Friday and Monday. I will write notes in planners, as needed, and discuss them with your scholar before they go home. I want them to understand that we are working together for them.

This website has several tabs on the right hand side that will give you more details about my expectations. Please subscribe to this page under my picture above. This will allow you to receive notifications every-time I update my website.

Thank you for your support,

Corrections for Lesson 5 Wordly-Wise packet is due no later than Friday 10/27/17. It must have a parent signature.

Friday, October 27th will be the last day scholars can bring in their lesson 5 packets for a grade of 70.  This message only applies to students that have a grade lower than 70 in the grade book.  If your scholar does not have a grade for these assignments in the grade book, it is their responsibility to ask for a replacement and have it completed by Friday.  Thank you for your support.

Our literacy night will be on October 17th.  We will be having a book swap this year.  Students will be allowed to bring gently used books from home.  They will exchange these books for tickets that display how many books they brought in.  On literacy night, they will be allowed to shop for different books using their tickets as payment.
It will be an even swap, so if they brought in 3 books, they will be able to choose 3 different books on literacy night at the book swap.
