Welcome to Mrs. Ripkowski's page. She has been teaching fifth grade for 23 years. Mrs. Ripkowski was born in Lakewood, Ohio and moved to Texas in 1978. She is a graduate of Conroe High School and Sam Houston State University with a degree in Education ECE-6th. She is also certified in ESL and GT. This is Mrs. Ripkowski's tenth year here at Willis ISD and Meador Elementary. She was named teacher of the year for Meador Elementary in 2011. She teams with Mr. Sweet and teaches Math and Science to their students. Mrs. Ripkowski lives in Willis, and both of her children graduated from Willis High School. She is proud to be a Willis Wildkat!

DISTRICT BENCHMARK TESTING THIS WEEK

Students will take the Math and Reading Benchmarks this week.
Math on Monday, Reading on Tuesday and Science next week on Tuesday.

Hope everyone's break was restful and enjoyable!
We have 4 weeks left before the semester ends and we are starting new content. Please come to school every day ready to learn and work hard.
 
Some students need to replenish supplies - pencils, paper, color pencils and glue. They may want to invest in a hand held sharpener as well.

STORYBOOK PARADE

Students have the opportunity to dress up as their favorite storybook character on Tuesday, October 31st. Bring the book to walk in the parade.

RED RIBBON WEEK!

Monday - Team up against drugs - wear a team shirt with jeans.
Tuesday - Drug free from head to toe - crazy hair and sock day.
Wednesday - National Unity Day - wear orange to pledge kindness and unity.
Thursday - WEAR RED for red ribbon week.
Friday - Be a superhero against drugs - wear a superhero shirt and jeans.
 
STORY CHARACTER DRESS UP DAY IS OCTOBER 31st.

5TH GRADE INFORMATION NIGHT

This Thursday, September 14th, at 6:00, there will be a 5th grade information night and sit down talk with the homeroom teachers. This will give the parents a chance to gather information and ask questions they may have about the year.
We hope to see you on Thursday!

NO SCHOOL THIS WEEK!

 Due to Hurricane Harvey and weather conditions WISD will be closed from Monday, August 28th - Friday, September 1st. Monday the 4th is Labor Day Holiday.
