Mrs. Harris graduated from Willis High School. She then went on to Sam Houston State University and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Animal Science with a minor in Biology. Mrs. Harris worked in Retail and Restaurant management for several years and then pursued an Alternative Certification in Special Education in 1992. Mrs. Harris taught one year in Trinity Independent School District as a Resource/Content Mastery/ Dyslexia teacher. She returned to her alma mater the following year and has been teaching in Willis Independent School District since that time. Mrs. Harris received Teacher of the Year in 2006 at Brabham Middle School. She also received Teacher of the Year in 2013 at Meador Elementary School and Elementary Teacher of the Year for Willis ISD in 2013.

  • If you still need to pick up your Big Kahuna fundraiser items, please come to the school as soon as possible to pick up your order. For questions, please call the school at 936-890-7550.

 

  • Grandparents Breakfast 11/10 K-2, & 11/11 3-5. Please return the pre-registration forms to get everyone in to eat breakfast smoothly and see the wonderful 4th grade program!
  • Book Fair begins on Monday, 11/7, and runs through Thursday, 11/17
  • The campus will be a "Closed Campus" for testing on the following days: Nov 8, 9, 14, 15, & 16 - Items may be dropped off for students but no visitors will be allowed for lunch

It's a short week this week.  Please make sure you are studying your Wordly wise flashcards and your Science vocabulary.  

This week October 3rd - 7th, 2016

Reminder that on Tuesday night we will be having Open House for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.  On Thursday, Open House for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Hope to see you there! 

This week September 19-23, 2016

This week we will be taking Common Assessments.  On Monday,  2nd - 5th grade will be taking the Math Common Assessment. On Tuesday, 2nd - 5th will be taking the Reading Common Assessment.  On Wednesday, 4th grade will be taking a Writing Common Assessment and 5th grade will be taking a Science Common Assessment.  Please make sure your student gets plenty of rest and comes to school ready to take their Common Assessment.

This week we will be working on place value, comparing and ordering whole and decimal numbers, and estimation and rounding.

This week May 23-27, 2016

This week Grades 3-5 will be having field day on Monday.  Third grade goes to YMCA on Tuesday. Grade 4 goes to YMCA on Thursday.  We will be doing end of year testing to see what we know and what we still need to work on.  

This week May 9th - May 13th, 2016

This week we will be a closed campus for STAAR testing.  Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and eats a healthy breakfast.  We are going to ROCK the STAAR!!

This week April 11th - April 15th, 2016

This week we will be doing review of all previous concepts and solving word problems using all operations.  We are going to be learning strategies (tricks) to help solve problems and finding the meaning behind key words. 

This week March 28th through April 1st, 2016

This week is the STAAR test for 4th and 5th graders.  Please make sure you get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast on your test day.
