November 19, 2015 ~ This week we are recognizing the students who had perfect attendance over the last 4 weeks of school. There is a staggering 266 Meador Scholars who accomplished this feat. These students were present every day of school and had no leave earlies or tardies. Mrs. Payne has been meeting with these students to discuss the kinds of prizes they would like for a drawing later this year. So far the kids have given a variety of ideas.
If you have any items, big or small, expensive to inexpensive, you would like to donate for prizes we will gladly accept them to recognize our students for their dedication to being at school every day. If you can donate any great "passes" to places those have been some great ideas from kids. You can call Mrs. Payne at 936-890-7550 for further information and to gift items.

November 18, 2015 ~ Our tree of food is getting much taller and our food drive has been a huge success so far but we still have so much further to go! So far we have collected almost 1,500 pounds of food (472 lbs from today) and our goal is 2, 800 pounds. We will continue collecting all types of non-perishable food items every day until December 4th. Student will receive stickers and points in music class. In addition, Mrs. Weeks is designating a themed item each day until the end of the food drive. Today's item is baby food, an often overlooked but food in high demand at a food pantry.
Thursday, November 19th's item will be peanut butter! Bring in jars of peanut butter and you will get extra points in music class.
Friday, November 20th's item will be soup.
Parents: Students will be bringing home a grocery bag as their reminder to bring more items in for the food drive. This is a great opportunity to discuss with students the importance of giving during the holiday season.
