Parenting with a Purpose - Parenting the Love and Logic Way February 20, 2015 ~ The fifth session for Parenting with Love and Logic sponsored by Willis ISD will take place on Thursday, February 26th at 5:30 at Lynn Lucas Middle School. The program is being presented by Dr. Tim Walsh, with wife Sharon, and Dr. Ivan Velasco, with wife Adrianna. You did not have to attend the earlier sessions to attend later sessions. Nachos will be served after the session, around 6:30. If you need childcare please call our front office at 936-890-7550 to RSVP in order to have adequate attendants for child care and to prepare the food.

19th Annual Chili Cook Off February 21st

19th Annual Chili Cook Off February 21st Willis, TX, Feb 2, 2015--The 19th Annual Willis Kook Kats Chili Cook Off and Silent Auction is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the American Legion Hall in Willis. Attendance is crucial for success!

Attendance is crucial for success! Janaury 26, 2015 ~ We want to see Meador Scholars' bright and smiling faces every day. If your Scholar is out sick or has a doctor appointment, please be sure to turn in a doctor's note or parent note from you.

With the winter months come illnesses. Please help us keep Scholars well by practicing preventative measures, such as hand washing, and make sure Scholars are well enough to send to school.

Meador Scholars are striving for 97% attendance every day. Please encourage your Scholar to be at school every day they are well!

If you have any questions about attendance you can call Registrar/Attendance Clerk, Mrs. McVey, or Assistant Principals, Greg Solberg and Barbara Payne, at 936-890-7550.

Watchdogs and Meador Moms volunteers needed for our Meador students January 23, 2015 ~ After our recent Donuts with Dad and Muffins with Mom events, we still have many openings we need filled with wonderful WatchDOGS and magnificent Meador Moms. Our students are the ones who will benefit from you spending your day at Meador. Please contact Mr. Solberg at 936-890-7550 to have your name added to one of the remaining days. Students would love to see 100% of the remaining days filled with a WatchDOG and a Meador Mom.

BBQ Bash to Benefit Education Foundation

BBQ Bash to Benefit Education Foundation Willis, TX, January 23, 2015 -- The Education Foundation will host their annual BBQ Bash on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 11:00 pm at the North Montgomery County Community Center. Tickets are $15 pre-sale and $20 the night of the event and can be purchased by calling 936-856-1311.

Christmas Parties & Early Release
On December 19, students enjoyed holiday parties in their classroom.

Thank you to all the parents and families who completed and returned the RED pre-registration to assist with check-in running smoothly and timely.
Dr Grow returns
December 11, 2014 ~ Dr. Go visited Meador to continue discussing and teaching healthy eating to students. Students made and enjoyed Vegetable Roll-ups. They were easy to make and kids and adults loved them.
Closed Campus - December 15th - 18th
We will be having school wide Benchmark Testing December 15th-18th. Due to this testing, our campus will be closed to all visitors conferences, meetings, lunch, etc. Thank you!

School Reach is Willis ISD’s message broadcast system. The service allows Willis ISD to communicate information by phone within minutes of an emergency or unplanned event that causes early dismissal, school cancellation or late start. It may also be used to convey general reminders or announcements. To review messages, call 855-955-8500 from the phone number to which the message was sent. Contact your child's campus if the number(s) provided for the School Reach system to use should change.
Student Handbook Has Been Uploaded
The 2014-15 Student Handbook for Willis ISD has been uploaded for parents and students to review. Please find the Parent link above. It will list several options. Find and click on the Student Handbook and it will take you to the current school year handbook.
MES School Calendar Has Been updated for the 2014-15 School Year
The school calendar has been updated on the website. The dates that are listed can change. If this does occur, MES will notify you asap to ensure that you are informed so you may make adjustments in your schedule if needed.

WatchDOGS and the Meador MOMS Very Successful With the success of our WatchDOGS and Meador MOMS, Meador Elementary is excited that we will continue with these programs for the 2014-15 school year.
STAAR Testing Program Guide
Attached you will find an overview of the STAAR Tests. This guide explains the tests and what grades take these tests. Please review it and if you have questions, please call the school at 936-890-7550 and ask for someone who can answer your STAAR questions, Ms. Seith, Ms. Payne or Mr. Solberg.
MES Student Assistant Principal
Today, May 16, MES was proud to have one of our Super Scholars serve as our Student Assistant Principal. From the Fall Festival, our Super Scholar had won one of the silent auction items, spend the day with the assistant principal. Today was the day our Super Scholar picked to be the Student Assistant Principal. You can see from the attached pictures, our Super Scholar was very busy from the first of the school day to the very end, including lunch duty. She did a great job working with the teachers and students. Mr. Solberg is very proud of her and wishes she will want to do it again one day.

The 5th Grade STAAR Retest
May 13th and 14th will be the retest days for 5th graders who did not pass the Math or Reading portions of STAAR. Attached you will find STAAR suggestions.
Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week This week, May 5 - May 9, we are taking the time to THANK our MES teachers and staff for always being there for our students. MES is a shining star for us because our teachers care for our students. Without our teachers, Meador would be just another school. Thank you TEACHERS for being so wonderful.
